When using a non-English language some of my characters are getting converted to garbled text!
We send your campaigns and store your subscribers using the universal UTF-8 encoding standard.
If your campaign formatting is getting changed
Make sure you set your document encoding to UTF-8, using the following meta tag:<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
Also, when you save your HTML file, make sure it is saved using UTF-8 encoding. If your HTML editor doesn't support this, open your HTML file in a text editor and save it using UTF-8 encoding.
If your subscriber data is getting changed
Just like your campaigns, your subscribe form page will also need to set the page encoding to UTF-8:<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
I change the encoding but my campaign still looks strange in Hotmail
Unfortunately Hotmail offers poor UTF-8 support, which means we need to use a different type of encoding when we send campaigns to your Hotmail recipients. In this case, we use iso-8859-1 encoding.Hopefully Hotmail will resolve this issue soon so we can use UTF-8 for all your recipients.
